Bolt, who lowered his personal best twice in record breaking fashion in successive major events is currently planning to celebrate his latest 9.58 achievement with his fellow Jamaicans in the aptly dubbed: Usain Bolt 9.58 SuperParty. The launch of which was held at the Terra Nova hotel in Kingston and had a mixture of media, sports personalities and general well wishers of Usain and his accomplishments.

Passengers on board Air Jamaica’s flight JM033 from Kingston to Fort Lauderdale on September 3 were treated to an impromptu performance from reggae star Luciano when the flight was diverted to Nassau as both Miami International and Fort Lauderdale airports were closed due to bad weather. During the refueling, Captain Luciano, with guitar in hand, navigated through some of his hits including “Lord Give Me Strength” for which he received a rousing applause. As one passenger remarked, “Only on Air Jamaica this kind of thing could happen….boy, Luciano really made me feel good today.” Afterwards, the purser thanked Luciano for providing additional entertainment and making it a memorable experience

Maybach Music Group founder and rap star Rick Ross touched down in Kingston, Jamaica to launch his artist Magazeen to the dancehall community. Jamaican-born Magazeen is the only dancehall act signed to the Miami-based label, Maybach Music Group (MMG), which has a joint venture through Def Jam - a syngery Magazeen is looking to capitalize on with his fusion of dancehall, hip-hop, R&B and pop sounds and thus international appeal.
His versatile musical style can be sampled on Ross' single "Yatch Club," on his current album, Deeper Than Rap. "I'm coming like a loaded clip with my music," discloses Magazeen, on his launch in Jamaica - the motherland of reggae and dancehall music.

Several weeks ago, as Michael Franti was notching his first Billboard Hot 100 single in a two-decade-plus career, he found himself in surgery with a ruptured appendix.
It's her first time on the Billboard chart and Cherine Anderson is thoroughly enjoying the moment.
The song for which Anderson has been getting all this recognition is Say Hey, which was done with the United States (US)-based Michael Franti and Spearhead. The song was released almost a year ago but after only six weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the song has already reached number 25. It is also on Billboard's rock, pop, radio and digital songs charts.
Wycliffe"Steely" Johnson one half of the dynamic Jamaican music producing duo Steely & Clevie (both pictured above) has died due to complications from pneumonia in a New York Hospital. The Jamaican musical fraternity mourns his passing.
