Santa Barbara, California natives reggae, rock and dub fusion band Rebelution are out to prove that good reggae music can be produced outside of Jamaica. Following in the footsteps of others such as UB40 and Matisyahu
Back in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar,) Rory Carey (keyboards,) Wesley Finley (drums,) and Marley D. Williams (bass) formed the band and have gradually been on a mission to not only dominate the Cali Reggae Scene but the world with their music. The first full length album which released in 2007 entitled Courage to Grow was well received by their fans and was considered an important musical breakthrough for the group. Their brand new 12 track sophomore album Brighter Side of Life was released on August 4, 2009 features the band's signature sounds with a clear new influence sampled from the hip hop world.
There is much that can be said about the band Rebelution but it's best to let their music speak for itself.

Thinking of Jamaica usually conjures up an image of peace-loving Rastafarians with thick dreadlocks surrounded by even thicker clouds of hash smoke who play reggae tunes and sing the praises of Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie
Scenes from the new thriller "A Perfect Getaway" were shot in Jamaica and Puerto Rico.
To help with meeting budgetary constraints, the similarilties in the scenery of both tropical locales were used to match that of Hawaii (the movie's plot location) which would have been a much more expensive shoot.
The movie which is centred around two couples who end up on vacation. What was suppose to be a a romantic island getaway takes a turn for the worst as they discover that psychokillers are murdering tourists one by one on the island. Written and directed by David Twohy the film stars Mila Jovovich, Steve Zahn, Chris Hemsworth, Kiele Sanchez and Timothy Olyphant.
