Friday, May 28th: Mr. Lexx and Federation Sound's own Max Glazer and Kenny Meez celebrate their "Lex-I-Con" Mixtape release at Santos Party House alongside "Re-Opened" Fridays residents DJ Gravy, Micro Don, DJ Soul and Grammy award winning producer Just Blaze.
Mr. Lexx (formerly known as Lexxus) has maintained popularity in Jamaica's ever changing Dancehall circuit for over a decade. While his classics like "Ring Mi Cellie", "Cook" and "Full Hundred" still play around the world, Lexx was recently nominated for a VMA in 09 for his appearance alongside Santogold on Major Lazer's popular lead single, "Hold The Line".

A title fitting for a man who is just that. Mr. Majestic has been in the music business for over 20 years. This Jamaican-born musician describes his music as "Ah juss roots yu nuh" . Jamaica's Youth View Awards 2010 nominated Favourite New Artiste of 2009, DENYQUE is fresh and out with a new single produced by Equiknoxx Music on their Kamera Trick Riddim entitled "Oh So Good". Local media and fans are touting the 20 year old DENYQUE as the next big Caribbean export since Rihanna.
I, like most of you, was wondering during the last couple of years during this new dance hop, or is it hip hall, phase that our music seems to have evolved to ‘Where is the fireman?’. Where was King Shango? Dancehall aficionados would know that from the mid 90s to the early 2000s, Capleton was on most if not all of dancehall’s most popular riddims sometimes even twice.

Kingston, Jamaica born Spragga Benz is the subject of Shotta Culture - A documentary about the life of this influential dancehall artist and the unforgiving streets he came from. Born into a large family of modest means, Shotta Culture chronicles Spragga’s rise to fame, as he overcomes personal obstacles, political strife and violence to become one of Jamaica’s most influential artists. Shotta Culture also explores the 2008 murder of Spragga’s son, Carlton Grant, Jr. at the hands of police. Providing never before seen interviews with witnesses and candid discussions of the ongoing violence claiming the lives of Jamaica’s youth.
