BACKAYARD

  • Fresh off the smartphone's launch in the U.S, Canada and also very soon India the Curve 8520 after the Storm 9500 is deemed as another innovative attempt by RIM to move away from their recurrently infamous trackball technology.  Instead the phone features what is referred to as trackpad navigation (similar technology to that of laptop touchpad).  With this you are able to glide easily over the pad to access different menus areas or icons, to select an item you simply press and click with your finger.  Not veering from other classic Curve design elements the lightweight 8520 is back with a full qwerty keyboard, a 2.0 mp camera with video capabilities, full WiFi support, plus a screen that provides a great viewing experience with just over 65,000 colors.
